AFRICOM's attacks on Traoré backfire, while Africans pledge support

Michael Langley, the head of the US Africa Command and a US Marine Corps general, is really up to it! In a US Senate hearing, he accused Ibrahim Traoré of corruption. He genuinely believed that the proceeds from the gold reserves were only used to protect the military regime. Langley couldn't say more; he had no proof. These accusations sparked outrage. A shitstorm erupted online! And that was a good thing. The accusations were a provocation—which they were—because the confederation of Sahel states, Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, have formed an alliance of Sahel states that can be considered a bastion of African self-determination. Something must be done to counter imperialist Western hegemony, and that is what is currently happening in the Sahel states.
