Timothy Bwibo died of gunshot

Timothy Bwibo, a father of two children from Eldoret, Kenya, tragically died on June 25, 2025, from a gunshot wound he sustained during the nationwide protests. He was hit in the abdomen by a stray bullet during clashes between police and protesters near his bus stop. He was reportedly on his way home. The incident occurred as he was arriving at his home bus stop, where clashes between law enforcement officers and protesters were still raging. Bwibo was admitted to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), where he remained in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries on July 4, 2025. His family described him as a hardworking and talented young man, whose loss was deeply mourned by his parents and wife. His mother recalled his final moments, when he was severely injured and distraught, while his wife recalled their last conversation before the shooting. Bwibo's death is one of at least 19 reported during the protests and highlights the human toll of the unrest. Grief and calls for justice have been heard, not only from his family and community, but also from mourning this tragic loss of a promising life. The incident casts a significant light on the current government.
