14 South African soldiers killed in conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo

14 South African soldiers killed in conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo, leading to calls for South Africa to withdraw It is strange that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa supports ethnic cleansing in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kivu. 14 South African soldiers were killed! South Africa has no business there, just like Malawi, Tanzania, Burundi.  Ramaphosa promised on Monday to continue to provide aid to the Democratic Republic of Congo. After the death of 14 South African soldiers, calls for the withdrawal of troops from Congo were made across the country. Among others, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) called for a withdrawal. EFF leader Julius Malema said the deployment of troops was pointless. In view of the escalating hostilities with the M23 rebels, it is important that South Africa withdraws its troops to ensure their security. Most of the soldiers killed were part of a peacekeeping mission sent to the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2023 by 16 member countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Ramaphosa had a meeting with Kagame in Kigali in 2024, after which Ramaphosa declared that this conflict could only be resolved on a diplomatic level. No sooner had he declared this than he sent troops to the DRC.
