"We are united," says Ruto
"We are united," says Ruto
In his address to Kenyans on February 25, President Ruto emphasized the need for an inclusive government that unites all Kenyans, even those who were in the opposition.
Ruto announced that opposition leaders had agreed to work with the Kenya Kwanza government to move the country forward.
The house of cards he built for himself is collapsing. It was not for nothing that Euro told the Supreme Court to leave him alone. Apparently, they are. President Ruto has called himself a "leader," which is worthy of comment. Some philosophers claim that a president is the servant of the people, not the people the servant of the president! There are few leaders in history, one of whom is Adolf Hitler. This is just one example.
Ruto and Raila have enjoyed a close relationship since Ruto endorsed Raila's bid for the AUC chairmanship and gave him strong support.
Ruto reiterated his willingness to cooperate. He added that the opposition leaders had also welcomed the idea of cooperation in the country's development.
"The elections are now over, and I have accepted the need to form a government that unites all Kenyans. After the election is before the election. The next election is in 2027. What Ruto needs is stability, and he hasn't achieved that to date."
The agreement with Raila didn't achieve much. For Ruto, it was more of a success of manipulation; for Raila, it only brought resentment, which is understandable.
The Democratic Party of Kenya has officially announced its withdrawal from the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and that remaining in the alliance is no longer possible due to current political developments.
The declaration, signed by the party's Secretary-General, took effect on March 7, 2025, and was also forwarded to the Secretaries-General of Ford Kenya, the United Democratic Alliance, and Maendeleo Chap Chap.
The party criticized the Kenya Kwanza government, particularly for the increase in kidnapping cases. The party publicly condemned the incidents and called for the establishment of a public commission of inquiry to investigate the matter. This certainly won't happen. And if it does, suddenly no one will know what happened.
